Maria Branca, Maria Branca.
If you say this name three times out loud, you will evoke
the spirit of a woman who will haunt you until she drowns you.
I was in primary school and we were playing near a fountain with a friend of mine. "Do you know Maria Branca?" she asked me, I answered no, "if you call her name three times she will come out of the fountain and take you away!" It was just a game but it always stayed in my mind.
One evening, in 2020 during Covid 19, after watching Jack Arnold's 'The Monster of the Black Lagoon' from 1954, I wrote this medium-length film.
