My favourite film genre is Horror. As a young girl, I saw two films that changed my life: "The Shining" and "It" (the 90s miniseries). I loved to see the effect of those films on people: tension and fear that was not limited to watching the film. The real fear came afterwards, when you had to go home alone or get up to have a glass of water in the middle of the night. For me it was pure magic. So I asked myself: could I do it too?

The next day I talked about it with my friends and it was decided: we would make a horror film. We spent whole afternoons writing the plot all together, and I started making storyboards. We decided to talk about Slenderman, the web monster.

For Christmas my parents gave me a small camera. I don't know what they saw in those weeks of preparation for the film, but they believed in me and that little camera was the proof. I will be forever grateful to them, because 'ASHES' was the beginning of everything and without that small camera I might not be writing these words. 

After three months of hard work, but also a lot of fun, we were finished. I spent the whole summer editing and discovered the 'magic of the frame'. There was no end to the amazement that this work aroused in me. Once the first film was finished, I already wanted to make another one.
